Resource Room Coordinator

The Fulton, Montgomery, and Schoharie Counties Private Industry Council is seeking a Resource Room Coordinator for their Amsterdam Center.

3 days a week in the Gloversville Office and 2 days a week in the Amsterdam Office.

$35,000/year

Two years of customer service experience required. Associate’s degree in human services preferred. Clean, valid driver’s license and transportation required.

Skills and Abilities:

-Working knowledge of technology equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers and other self-help equipment.

-Working knowledge of various computer applications/programs to meet the needs of the customers.

-Working knowledge of the Internet and its benefit to the jobseeker.

-Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.

-Knowledge of a variety of employment tools and the appropriate uses.

-Ability to provide constructive criticism.

-Ability to identify transferable skills.

-Knowledge of support services in the area.

-Ability to interpret and critique written material.

Job Duties:

-Collect documentation for data eligibility validation and enter into database.

-Input customer data into the OSOS System while interviewing.

-Coordinate use of the facility and equipment.

-Assist customers in understanding the benefit of the self-help center in their job search.

-Teach customers to use self-help technologies and resources (Internet, fax, computers, e-mail, voice mail, etc.).

-Identify customer skills, understanding of technology, learning style and personal preferences – necessary to complete an orientation to the resource self-help center.

-Continually seek customer feedback on usefulness and availability of materials and center.

-Assist customers in formatting resumes.

-Prevent, identify, or solve problems with equipment including computers and other technology.

-Work cooperatively with other members of the center.

-Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to customers regarding the effective use of the resources when developing their resume and conducting their job search.

-Actively listen to the customer inquiries/requests to identify services that are most needed and additional services that could be developed.

-Respond to customer complaints and resolve them effectively and in a professional manner.

-Demonstrate sensitivity to customer frustrations and concerns.

-Maintain daily log.

-Follow established procedures for operating equipment.

-Evaluate quality of services and resulting outcomes.

-Work to increase customer satisfaction with self-help resources through redesigning the system and expanding resources.

Job Location:  Amsterdam and Gloversville

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; 37.5 hours per week
